Spekulasie

The Spekulasie Estate is situated in the well known Swartland, just north off the R315, close to the Darling area. This 250ha estate is unique hence the critical endangered Renosterbolplantveld with it’s own micro ecosystem. Conservation is the keyword to all the activities on this truly magnificent farm.

The 20ha dryland bushvine vineyard on rich Swartland Oakleaf soil, is situated against a northern slope about 28 km as the crow flies, from the Atlantic ocean. The vineyard, which yields approximately 5 tons/ha, is farmed according to IPW standards.

David & Nadia

We moved into the Paardebosch winery in December 2014, just in time for the very early and quick 2015 harvest.

We are working with various vineyards and soil types throughout the Swartland and Paardebosch is our “base” farm where our winery is located and which David farm as well.

Our new Paardebosch project is a farm focused project based on old vineyards, steep mountain granite soils and mainly bush vines situated on the Paardebosch farm itself.

Annex kloof

Annex Kloof Wines is a family project situated in the granite slopes of the beautiful Paardeberg in the Swartland, South Africa on the R45 between Malmesbury and Paarl. The name Annex Kloof has the beautiful and very descriptive meaning of “where the gorges meet”

When winemaker, Hugo Basson, is not busy making wine, you will find him in the vineyards alongside brothers Thys and Tobie.  Today these three brothers and business associates have 7 sons to follow in their footsteps, but it all started four generations back in 1906, with grandfather Matthys.
