Welgegund, like any fine wine, has been some time in the making. Situated at the foot of the Limietberg on the road aptly referred to as ‘horseshoe’, this 35ha farm has a historic pedigree. Established in 1777, Welgegund was once owned by Cecil John R.

Nestling at the foot of the Groenberg mountain, the town of Wellington lies in the picturesque Bovlei valley on the banks of the Kromme River. The majestic Hawequa Mountains are silent sentinels on its eastern border.

The restoration of Nabygelegen began in mid-2001 with the extensive planting of new vineyards and the rejuvenation of the existing ones. With some vines planted in the 1940’s and new plantings coming online yearly, our commitment to quality without compromise, is firmly on track!

Thokozani wines are made by the Diemersfontein team which reduces overheads and risk for the empowerment company. The latter does most of the marketing and the wines are doing well internationally, especially in Holland. The plan is to grow output to about 10 000 cases a year across the three Thokozani wines, from 6000 cases presently, which would take Thokozani wines to about 10% of Diemersfontein’s annual production. The Thokozani Wine is doing well and represented in the US, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Czech Republic , South Africa and Botswana.

Mont du Toit Kelder lies at the foot of the Hawequa mountain, Wellington, Western Cape, bordering Paarl, the centre of wine production in South Africa, some 65 km north-north-east of Cape Town.

Twenty eight hectares of vines grow on sunny, north and northwest facing slopes of weathered granite and Clovelly Hutton soils, with sandy loam in the lower areas.

Mischa Estate is nestled in the valley of Wellington, South Africa below Groenberg. Third generation Mischa Estate was bought just after the Second World War by John Barns Senior. He chose the farm because of its view of Table Mountain. This unique position makes Mischa one of the few farms in the region with a line of sight to the coast, bringing evening sea breezes that play an important role in these unique wines distinctive character. 
 

Linton Park’s legacy started in 1699 as the farm De Slange Rivier. Our original farm was named for the winding stream, Snake River or Slange Rivier which still flows down the mountain. The majestic Groenberg Mountain presides over Linton Park Wine Estate, which is minutes away from the charming and rustic town of Wellington in South Africa’s Western Cape province.

Several diverse micro climates are offered by the valley folds and mountain slopes and our vineyards are sited and prepared to optimise these.

The valley in which Doolhof lies is blessed with unique and varied terroirs. The microclimates, growing conditions and soil types make it ideal for growing wine grapes.

The Estate lies between Bain’s Kloof and the Groenberg Mountain Range. The result is soils that are finer, more balanced and deeper than in the surrounding countryside with clay content evenly distributed. A combination of Malmesbury shale, homogenic Glenrosa and Clovelly soils ensure that the roots are able to descend to four metres or beyond.
