Occupying its own valley, our family estate is situated on the northeast facing slopes of the Bottelary Hills in the Stellenbosch region. Here nature has provided us the perfect soils and climate to grow and produce award-winning wines.
The Steenkamp family are the third generation owners of Groenland and have established a reputation for producing outstanding red and white wines in the fertile Bottelary area near Stellenbosch.
Complex varietal wines such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and a special blend, Antoinette Marie, have placed the estate in the forefront of superior red wine production. Maturation takes place in American and French oak barrels.
The Bottelary Hills Wine Centre serves as a sales venue and information gateway to all the products and destinations in the Bottelary Wine Route.
This wine route is a sub-wine route of the Stellenbosch Wine Routes, one of South Africa's most popular destinations for both local and overseas tourists.
The wine centre is the first of its kind in South Africa and it includes wine sales, wine tastings, a wine-per-glass facility and information centre to promote all the wine producers who are part of Bottelary.
