Jan Harmsgat Country House

We are proud to bring you our Fourth Vintage of the JHG Collection. Our philosophy is to create delicious single-block wines, which are the smallest production unit for vineyards and may not exceed six hectares per cultivar. Since 1723, Jan Harmsgat Farm or JHG, is situated on the most southern tip of the Robertson Wine valley along the foothills of the Langerberg Mountains. Our Farm's unique position borders both the dry climate of the Little Karoo as well as the Mediterranean cool sea breezes from the Coastal Regions.

Famous for our baked goods, preserves, and orchards, Jan Harmsgat provides an award winning dining experience. All overnight guests are treated to a Jan Harmsgat Breakfast, which includes fresh fruit parfait topped with homemade muesli and yogurt, followed by hot breakfast of their choice, fresh squeezed juice and fresh brewed coffee or tea.

Lunch and dinner menu changes frequently as the kitchen utilizes fresh produce grown in its own garden. Diners are sure to be pleased with choices such as the rack of lamb, duck confit, aged beef fillet, or our famous kudu fillet.

All pastas are handmade and salad is picked fresh daily. It is often said dessert should be eaten first, for it is not to be missed. Pecan pie is a specialty made with the organically grown pecans from the farm and topped with homemade ice cream.
