Backsberg’s Wine Blending Experience is perfect for both social and corporate events. Guests participate in an informative Wine Tasting followed by an interactive and hands-on blending activity. The aim is to broaden our guests’ knowledge about the nature of single varietals and how they are often used to form a component in a wine blend, adding either structure, fruit, finesse or body to create a well-balanced wine.
Guests are divided into smaller teams upon arrival. They are then seated and asked to taste three single varietal wines, followed by a blend. Three cylindrical tubes are then given to each team. They must now determine what percentage of each variety is used to create the blend. The team with the closest approximation wins. This event is then followed by a Design Your Own Label competition, allowing guests to unleash the artist within. In both instances, fabulous wine-related prizes are up for grabs.
